What did Dennis Prager say? "Bared his soul"?

Hello,

Like the other people in this group, I only caught the last few minutes
of Dennis Prager's 12-30-05 show.... He said he "spent most of the show
baring [his] soul" regarding his personal tragedy.... What did he say?
Apparantly he is getting a divorce according to the other posters here,
but did he say anything insightful about himself? What got "bared"?
What did he realize about himself...?

I never thought he claimed to be a relationship expert, just that he
gives his opinions on his show... I have heard him mention several
times that he is not anti-divorce, that it can be for the best.

Thanks in advance for filling me in....

"You are Gandalph!" : )

BT,
Thanks for posting that. As always there's a few classic "Pragerisms"
contained in the blurb. I loved the line about his "happy
demeanor"...Prager???!!!! He has a happy demeanor compared to
who---Michael Savage? Also, it was nice to see Prager take a moment
from his grief to pat himself on the back concerning the marriages he
has supposedly saved.
I realize that Prager doesn't "owe" anyone any more of an
explanation, but such an explanation would have at least been
interesting, especially since he always prided himself on being an
expert on relationships, and, in addition, also took very heavy handed
positions on issues that might have been at play here. For
example....did his wife think that he was gone too much? It sure seems
(and he confirms) that he travels extensively to give his speeches. What
would make this scenario interesting is the fact that Prager has often
lambasted working mothers who put the extra money earned for a second
car above their presence in her kids' lives...so, if that's the case,
could Prager have been a better husband/father if he had turned down the
extra $$ earned in these speeches?

This is probably another reason why I got more and more turned off by Prager
over the years, the shifting of his own values. The example you gave above
shows a great departure of the values he used to preach that people (even
men) put career and money ahead of the family when they shouldn't.

Also, I remember a few years back where he actually toyed with the idea that
U.S. workers may need more vacation time like people in europe have. More
recently, after he started his anti-european crusade, he did a show where he
talked about how great America is because we are so hard-working whereas the
Europeans have too much vacation time.

You're right -- although it's not really any of our business, one does have
to wonder. I suspect, as you do, that his frequent traveling along with his
inflated ego played a big role.
